Green Hills, (then known as "Green Hill Zone"), has a mysterious beginning, but is believed to be first discovered by Sonic in 1991. This was the very first place Sonic thwarted Eggman in his mission of world domination. It would later be a place of peace and joy for Sonic. As he later went on different escapades and met new friends, they would all stay at Green Hills.
